About CSIA

In 1929 the California Self-Insurers Association came into being. Its stated purpose was to monitor and protect the legitimate interests of self-insurers in the workers’ compensation field. The California Self-Insurers Association performs these functions by providing educational opportunities as well as legislative and regulatory support and analysis to its members.

Today CSIA has over 100 members, representing many of California’s largest companies. The association provides ongoing representation and leadership in the field of self-insured workers’ compensation issues. Members benefit from the valuable resources, ongoing educational programs and two annual conferences put on by the association.

Joining CSIA helps California businesses who choose to self insure their workers’ compensation liabilities create a united voice in the complicated and often contentious subject. Vision

CSIA is the Association in which all California Self-Insured Employers and their service providers are members, and the organization that employers, regulators and lawmakers rely upon for workers' compensation training and self-insurance guidance.

As a provider of workers’ comp managed care services to California’s self-insured employers and as an employer ourselves, we receive great value from our CSIA membership.  The association provides educational opportunities, through conferences and other means, which are timely and relevant.  We are kept current on issues affecting employers and the self-insured, which makes us better partners in serving their needs.

Event Highlights

2011 Fall Conference

The CSIA 2011 Fall Educational Program was held at the Oakland Marriott City Center Hotel and we had a very good turnout with high marks from the attendees. On September 7, 2012 we will return to the Oakland City Center Marriott for our 2012 Fall Conference.
